The power and authority of the First Congregational Church is grounded in its people when they officially meet each year. In 2020, that occurs on Sunday January 26th and we want as many people present as possible for there are some significant issues to be determined by the membership. Due to the importance of our form of church governance, we only have one worship service when we schedule the Annual Meeting so that everyone can stay and attend the meeting without having to make two trips. So, on Sunday January 26th at 10 a.m., we will worship as one body and then after worship move right into our Annual Meeting. As a way for the congregation to check in with their clergy, Annual Meeting Sunday is also the day when we schedule the “Ask the Pastor Sunday” so come prepared with some good questions to ask Reverends Mendes and Simon.
