Community Groups

First Congregational Church of Essex Junction has a tradition of inclusive outreach and service that stretches back to our earliest days as a community meeting house. We continue to serve as a civic and cultural hub, and we are proud to have more than twenty community groups meeting in our space on a regular basis. Scout Troops Chartered by First Congregational Church

First Congregational Church is proud to sponsor three local Scouting troops:

Scout Troop 624

Troop 624 has been chartered by First Congregational Church since 1958. The troop holds its meetings weekly on Wednesdays starting at 7pm. This is the traditional Scouting BSA experience (this is a boy troop) for youth ages 11-18 years old. Service, community engagement, and leadership development become increasingly important parts of the program as youth lead their own activities and work their way toward earning Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout. For more information visit HERE.

Cub Scout Pack 630

Cub Scout Pack 630 has been chartered by First Congregational Church since 2015. The pack meets on the first Thursdays of the month; dens meet at various times. Pack 630 serves girls and boys in Kindergarten through 5th grade in Essex Junction, Essex Town, Westford and the surrounding communities in Chittenden County. Cub Scouting teaches the values and skills of scouting through a fun program of activities and events focused on developing character and leadership, building citizenship, physical activity and learning new skills.  For more information visit HERE.
